Wildland Urban Interface
With the White Mountain Communities being nestled among the forest, it is one of our top priorities to be experienced in fighting wild land fire. All of the “Blue Shirt” Fire Fighters are qualified wild land fire fighters ranging from FFT2 up to Strike Team Leader/Task Force Leader, Public Information Officer & Liaison Officer.Our fleet of apparatus currently exists of Four Type 6′s, Four Type 1′s, three water tenders, three Type 3′s. Our fire crews are called for response all over Arizona and the rest of the United States. Wildfire is our number 1 risk to our community everyone has a part to play to keep our community safe from wildfires. Each and every year TMFMD responds to fire starts in the wild land urban interface. Nearly all of the fires are human caused and can be avoided.
